Since founding SilverFern Advisory in 2013, Denny has been on a mission to help colleges and universities succeed in igniting the talents and passions of their students. She helps institutions be the best they can be by setting a clear vision of success and developing a forward-back plan to get there.
As a higher education strategist and advisor, Denny has a knack for understanding what's necessary, seeing what’s possible, and bringing clarity to complex situations. As a creative collaborator, she has a passion for working with others to develop and implement practical solutions.
Prior to launching SilverFern Advisory, Denny enjoyed a successful career in strategy and finance leadership roles with some of the best-loved names in retail, including Nordstrom, Target, and Marshall Field's. Denny co-led strategy and innovation projects alongside external consulting firms including Bain, McKinsey, Marakon, and Hornell Anderson.
The hallmark of Denny's work is her ability to lead change by engaging with smart, forward-looking colleagues on complex projects that push boundaries in order to create new insights, better experiences, more effective decisions, and stronger outcomes.
Denny is a life-long learner and an advocate of the liberal arts. She earned a B.A. in economics from Amherst College and an M.B.A. in finance and business policy from the University of Chicago. Her family's combined higher education experience spans eleven radically different undergraduate and graduate institutions (so far).
After stints in Michigan, Manhattan, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Helsinki, Denny now calls the Pacific Northwest her home.
